Day 1 - Arrival and Check in
Phil, Anna, and I left from my house a little before 11:00 a.m. Wednesday morning. Originally we had planned to stop at Bowling Green, but as a result of having left later than we expected and finding that Interlochen really was not that far away, we decided to just keep going. Thus, we arrived and got our keys for our dorm from the camp hotel just 5 to 10 minutes before midnight.
I received my assignments last Friday, and I have already printed out some music and emailed some of my collaborative instrumentalists. And so it begins.
This is the name of the dorm of where I live.
A shot of the outside, taken this evening, specifically, 30 minutes ago, so that I could have pictures to put on my blog.
Everyone loves to see pictures of the threshold.
Black and white collage in staircase, probably supposed to be sentimental in a historically significant manner.
Basement corridor: there are practice rooms inside the dorm! I am so happy about that situation.
A locked practice room with a grand piano--it is probably locked because it was 11 when I checked and all practicing stops at 10 p.m. This will be good yet challenging for me because during the school year, 30-60% of my practicing often occurs after 10 p.m.
(These pictures do far little to depict the beauty of the campus and its natural surroundings. I will try to make a habit of taking nicer pictures)
