In case you've never seen Euros before, here's a picture of a 5 euro bill, four 1 cent coins, one 2 cent coin, and a 1 Euro coin. Incidentally, that's all I have left, and I'm not yet sure how I'm going to rectify this money-lack.
Two general thoughts dominated my head, today:
1) I'm really poor in Europe right now and I really want ice cream.
2) I'm currently more inclined to want to be a lieder pianist than an opera répétiteur.
Regarding the second point, I find that progress with the Three-Penny/Beggar's Opera cast is really inhibited by the other productions right now. This music is not their priority currently, so it's hard for me to be excited about it. On the other hand, I am very much looking forward to working on Wolf and hope to begin rehearsing with people soon. The issue is that everyone is busy all the time with back to back lessons and rehearsals!
I don't mind having a lot of free time to work on things as I please, but I'm starting to wonder if there is something I should be doing that would help me benefit more from my experience here. Do I keep doing what I'm doing or try to maximize my lieder experience?
Hmm. Perhaps I will wait and see before I decide to take on a dozen more songs outside of the opera.
