Today's rehearsal marathon wasn't as grueling as I feared. It was actually very enjoyable and entertaining to observe. Even though the topics of this opera are rather crude, I find it fun to put together, so I am looking forward to polishing the production and finally performing it.
After the rehearsal today, I worked on word for word translations for Schumann's Baltsatzar with Thorsten and Wolf's Schlafendes Jesuskind with Nick. My session with Nick became a sort of exchange of family history and backgrounds, which was neat. I enjoy speaking with him. He is very nice. I'm looking forward to working with him more to figure out more German.
I'm fairly content with how things are going here. I actually practice more efficiently when I have long scheduled rehearsals, so I've been getting things done, which is nice. The only thing is that I've recently been thinking a lot about people back home--I miss familiar faces and friends!
